Houston Dash GK Jane Campbell named to U.S. Women’s National Team for Olympic Games

Houston Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell was named to the full 22-player roster of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The International Olympic Committee officially expanded rosters for the Olympic soccer competitions on Wednesday from 18 players to 22 players. The expansion was also ratified by FIFA, the governing body of the sport.

Participating countries now have the option of selecting 22 players for their squads and can choose a maximum of 18 players to dress for each game. Campbell was named as an alternate player to the U.S. Olympic Women’s Soccer Team on June 23. Campbell is one of six players that will represent the Dash at the Olympic Games this Summer in Japan.

Campbell has earned five caps with the U.S. Women’s National Team, including the team’s 6-0 victory over Argentina to capture the 2021 SheBelieves Cup championship on February 24. It was the Dash goalkeeper’s second clean sheet national team, both of which have come this year. The goalkeeper made her senior international debut at BBVA Stadium in Houston during a 5-1 USWNT victory over Russia in April 2017.
