The Houston Dash signed Bianca Henninger as a goalkeeper replacement, the club announced today.

The signing comes after Dash goalkeeper Lydia Williams suffered a grade 1 quadriceps strain in her right thigh. Williams is expected to miss the next month due to the injury.

This is Henninger’s second stint with the club after she was originally acquired in a trade with FC Kansas City in January 2014. The Mexican National Team goalkeeper played in five games last season for the Dash and earned a shutout in a 3-0 victory over Portland Thorns FC on July 16, 2016. Henninger appeared in 17 games for Houston over three seasons.

Henninger will travel with the team to the Pacific Northwest for the Lifetime NWSL Game of the Week against the Thorns at 1 p.m. CT. on Saturday, Aug. 5.
