The Houston Dash have signed midfielder Cami Privett, the club announced today. Privett will be added to the roster pending receipt of her International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are excited to have Cami back this season as we feel she has really grown over the past year and has tremendous versatility,” Dash managing director Brian Ching said. “When we look at the qualities we want on our roster, she checks off every box: great skill, determination, hardworking and a team player.”

Privett, 22, joins the Dash from Kolbotn IL in Norway, where she has played since July 2015. She scored seven goals in 11 matches (10 starts) for the club.

Prior to playing abroad, the midfielder took part in the Dash tryouts in February 2015. After impressing the club technical staff she was invited to the preseason camp and later offered an amateur contract. She made her debut for the team against FC Kansas City on May 2, 2015. She made four appearances (two starts) last season for the Dash.

“She’s the perfect example for young players to persevere and go for your goals. Nothing comes easy and Cami clearly worked hard for this opportunity,” Dash head coach Randy Waldrum said. “Cami will bring that hard work mentality to the Dash, plus she brings a load of versatility for us, which we need. Her competitiveness is fantastic and her willingness to learn is going to help make her a great pro for us.”

The Bakersfield, California native was a four-year letter winner at the University of California Irvine. Some of her collegiate accolades include Big West Freshman of the Year and second team All-Big West as a freshman. Prior to joining UC Irvine, Privett won the league title and MVP award with Frontier High School in 2011.

Her youth career includes time with Real Southern California, California Odyssey and the California North ODP Region IV team.
