The Houston Dynamo Academy opened the ICC Futures tournament in Florida this morning with a 3-1 penalty shootout victory over Club Deportivo Guadalajara. The match finished in a 1-1 draw during regulation.
Liam Thorsen made two key saves in the shootout to lead the U-14 side to their first victory of the tournament.
The Dynamo fell short in their second match of the day as they dropped a 3-2 result to Real Madrid. Jacob Grossman finished with a brace for the Dynamo and he continues his hot start to the Development Academy season. The forward has scored 10 goals in nine games for the U-14 side this season.
The final group game for the U-14 Dynamo side is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12 at 8:20 a.m. CT and the match will be streamed live on Watch ESPN or InternationalChampionsCup.com.
