ST. PAUL, Minn. (Oct. 10, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC earned a 2-2 comeback draw on the road at Minnesota United FC tonight, as forwards Lyle Foster and Duncan McGuire each scored their first goals for the Club.

It marked the 15th time in Club history where two players scored their first goals in the same match. Interestingly, the previous occurrence also came against Minnesota in May last year when defender Felipe Andrade and former Dynamo player Pablo Ortiz scored their first goals for Houston.

The Dynamo have now avoided defeat in 11 of 14 matches since returning from the World Cup break.

Houston took the lead in the 18th minute when Foster capitalized on a Loons error in their own half. The South African international pressured Minnesota defender Michael Boxall into a turnover, allowing Foster to gain possession, dribble into the box and find the back of the net. Foster became the 23rd Dynamo player to score a goal in his first start for the team. The Dynamo signed the South African international on loan last month, joining Houston after spending the past four seasons with Burnley FC, making 89 league appearances and scoring 11 goals across the Premier League and EFL Championship.

Minnesota leveled the match in the 48th minute when Morris Duggan found Kelvin Yeboah at the far post for a right-footed finish.

The hosts then took the lead in the 78th minute when Marcus Caldeira found the near post following a low-driven cross from Cherrion Valerius.

McGuire equalized for the Dynamo in second half stoppage time, heading the ball past the Minnesota's goalkeeper Drake Callender after connecting with a headed pass from forward Nick Markanich. The play began when attacker Mateusz Bogusz picked out Markanich at the far post, who then directed the ball towards McGuire near the six-yard box. The goal marked Markanich's first assist of the season.

Notably, goalkeeper Blake Gillingham made his fifth-career MLS appearance tonight in relief of veteran goalkeeper Jonathan Bond, who picked up an injury in the 75th minute.

Bond was called into action in the 29th minute when Yeboah connected with a header inside the box, forcing the English shot stopper to get up high to make the save. A minute later, Bond delivered another key save, denying Wil Trapp's long-range shot.

Forward Lawrence Ennali tested the Minnesota goalkeeper in the 58th minute with a powerful strike from the left side of the box after beating Boxall on the dribble.

In the 63rd minute, Nick Markanich entered the match for his ninth appearance of the season, marking the first time the Markanich twins (Anthony Markanich) shared an MLS pitch.

Houston had another shot on target in the 67th minute when attacker Guilherme received a short pass from Bogusz and fired a right-footed shot that forced Callender into a diving save.

The Dynamo nearly capitalized on another Minnesota error in the 87th minute after defender Franco Negri retrieved a loose ball inside the box and forced Callender into a diving save with a left-footed shot towards the far post.

Houston continues their two-match road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 14, traveling to face San Diego FC at Snapdragon Stadium, with kickoff set for 9:30 p.m. CT on Apple TV.
