Houston Dynamo FC acquired up to $250,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from Nashville SC in a trade for forward Fafa Picault, both clubs announced today. Houston will receive $50,000 of 2023 GAM, $50,000 of 2024 GAM and up to $150,000 in conditional 2024 GAM if certain performance metrics are achieved.

“We are making significant changes to the staff and roster this offseason as we look to field a more competitive team in 2023,” Dynamo general manager Pat Onstad said. “After meeting with Fafa at the end of the season, we decided that this move made sense for all parties. We appreciate everything Fafa has done for the club and we wish him the best moving forward.”

The forward scored 18 goals for the Dynamo and tallied eight assists in 61 regular season games. The 31-year-old has six years of MLS experience and has appeared in 168 matches since making his debut in 2017.

The Dynamo acquired Picault in a trade with FC Dallas on Dec. 17, 2020, for $200,000 in 2021 General Allocation Money, $75,000 in 2022 General Allocation Money and future performance-based considerations.
