International Roundup: Canada, US qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and advance to CWC Final

The Canadian Women’s National Team secured their spot in next summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup with a 7-0 victory over Panama in Frisco, Texas. Allysha Chapman logged a full 90-minute shift and Nichelle Prince tallied three assists in 45 minutes of action after she entered the game in the second half. The forward has now contributed to a quarter of CanWNT’s 24 goals in the tournament.  


Canada will face the U.S. Women’s National Team in the CONCACAF Women’s Championship Final at 7 p.m. on Wednesday after the defending FIFA Women’s World Cup Champions defeated Jamaica 6-0 in the nightcap at Toyota Stadium in north Texas. The match will air live on Fox Sports 1 and in Spanish on Univision Deportes Network.  


Jamaica and Panama will compete for the final automatic berth on Wednesday and the runner up will play against Argentina in a two-game series to qualify for the World Cup next summer.
