Manchester City F.C. announces traveling roster for May 28 BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup

HOUSTON (Friday, May 22, 2015) – English Premier League giants Manchester City F.C. announced their traveling roster today for the BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup, hosted by the Houston Dynamo on May 28 at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini’s traveling squad includes Spanish national team midfielder and 2010 FIFA World Cup winner David Silva, Manchester City and Belgian national team captain Vincent Kompany, who won Premier League Player of the Season in 2011-2012, and Yaya Touré, a four-time African Footballer of the Year and Man City’s Player of the Year in 2013-14 after scoring 20 goals.


Manchester City’s traveling squad also includes several international players, including Edin Dzeko (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Fernando and Fernandinho (Brazil), Joe Hart and James Milner (England), Gaël Clichy, Bacary Sagna and Eliaquem Mangala (France),  Wilfried Bony (Ivory Coast) and Jesús Navas (Spain).

Founded in 1880, Manchester City has won two of the last four English Premier League titles. City is currently in second place in the EPL (23-7-7; 76 points) with one game remaining, this Sunday at home against Southampton. The club boasts the best goal difference (+43) in the Premier League standings and have secured a second-place finish to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in 2015-16 for the fifth consecutive season.
