Houston Dash midfielder Andrea Hauksdottir will join Iceland for their first 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying match on Sept. 21, the federation announced earlier this week.
Iceland open Group C play at home on Sept. 21 against the Netherlands. Due to the structure of group play Iceland will have a bye on Sept. 17. Iceland will resume group play in October against the Czech Republic and Cyprus.
Hauksdottir signed with Houston on June 1 and made her Dash debut in a 1-1 draw with Gotham FC on Aug. 1
