Mock Draft Roundup: Who will the Dynamo take at No. 4?

The 2017 MLS SuperDraft is just a week away, and the mock drafts are starting to trickle out across the internet. We compiled some of the top prognostications from around the web of who the Dynamo could take with the No. 4 pick in the first round.

  • MLSsoccer.com Armchair Analyst - Jackson Yueill* (MF, UCLA): Matt Doyle sees Yueill as "a game-controlling No. 8 who can spring the occasional runner and change the geometry of his game with the ability to pick a pass." He does also say that he expects Minnesota United, who has the No. 1 overall pick, to try to trade up to No. 3 or 4 to take Yueill, a Minnesota native.
  • Top Drawer Soccer - Jackson Yueill* (MF, UCLA): The college experts at TDS also have Yueill, a U.S. YNT regular, going at No. 4 to the Dynamo. They note that "some MLS General Managers have compared his game to Toronto FC midfielder Michael Bradley" after tallying 9 goals and 17 assists in two seasons with the Bruins.
  • Soccer By Ives - Miles Robinson* (DF, Syracuse): In our other two mock drafts, Robinson is already gone at the No. 4 slot (No. 2, MLSsoccer.com; No. 3, Top Drawer Soccer). The center back is also a regular with the U.S. U-20s, and while the SBI crew thinks there are other more experienced defenders, they say Robinson "has the tools to develop into a national team-caliber defender."
  • NBC Sports Pro Soccer Talk - Aubrey David (DF, Notre Dame): David is one of those other defenders noted by SBI, and PST has him as the second center back taken, with Robinson going second overall to Atlanta United.

The consensus top four picks across three of the four mocks included Yueill, Robinson, Jeremy Ebobisse (FW, Duke), and Abu Danladi (FW, UCLA). Who do you think the pick will be? One of those four, a surprise pick, or maybe a trade? Tune in to the MLS SuperDraft next Friday at 2 p.m. CT here on HoustonDynamo.com to find out!
