El Salvador, led by former US Men’s National Team standout Hugo Pérez, currently sits in seventh place in CONCACAF 2022 World Cup Qualifying standings. El Salvador’s roster includes two players who are already familiar with PNC stadium in Houston Dynamo FC midfielder Darwin Cerén, who started in all three of his national team’s most recent 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, and forward Danny Rios, who signed a homegrown contract with the Club last summer.

Ecuador, who is visiting PNC Stadium for the second time and first since 2013, comes into this match in third place in the CONMEBOL 2022 World Cup Qualifying standings. Head coach Gustavo Alfaro leads a team that features Villarreal’s Pervis Estupiñán and Ángel Mena. Mena visited PNC Stadium recently, when his club team, Leon, took on Pumas in the Leagues Cup semifinals. In this match, Mena scored a 46th minute penalty kick that gave his team the lead.
