TEAM NOTES:

  • Head coach Wilmer Cabrera used his fourth different starting lineup this season. Since the start of the 2017 season, Cabrera has used 36 different starting lineups in 38 matches as head coach.
  • The Dynamo outshot New England 15-12. It was the third time this season the Houston had more shots than their opponent. The Dynamo are now 1-2-0 this season when outshooting their opponents and went 9-6-5 when outshooting the opposition last season.
  • The Dynamo completed better than 75 percent of their passes, connecting on 75.5 percent of their 379 passes (286 completions). It was the third time this season that Houston’s completion percentage topped 75 percent.
  • The Dynamo conceded the first goal of the game for the second time this season. Houston also conceded first in Week 2 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The Dynamo are now 0-2-0 this year when giving up the game’s first goal and were 2-10-3 last season when conceding first.
  • The Dynamo trailed at halftime for the first time this season. Houston trailed at halftime just nine times in 34 matches last year.
  • The Dynamo were held scoreless for the first time this season.

  • DF Adolfo Machado started in his 37th MLS regular-season contest tonight. Machado has started 37 of a possible 38 matches since joining the Dynamo prior to the 2017 season.
  • Machado made his second start of the season at right back.
  • DF Alejandro Fuenmayor made his MLS debut, starting at right center back.
  • Fuenmayor led the team in total touches, with 69, and in passes, with 50 in his debut.
  • MF Memo Rodriguez made his 2018 season debut when he came on for MF Eric Alexander in the 78th minute. Rodriguez made his MLS debut last year against New England.
  • FW Mac Steeves made his MLS debut when he came on for FW Alberth Elis in the 78th minute.
  • MF Eric Alexander started his 145th career game and made his 195th career appearance tonight.
