Houston native Rudy Romero has been a Houston Dynamo FC fan since its inaugural season when the team won back-to-back MLS Cup titles in 2006 and 2007.
“I was actually a ball boy for the Dynamo with my brother at Robertson Stadium,” Romero said.
Now a Season Ticket Member for two years, the drywall supply company manager said his favorite players are Héctor Herrera, Franco Escobar and Adalberto “Coco” Carrasquilla.
“My favorite Season Ticket Member benefits include meeting the players, having early access to tickets for games and exclusive events, as well as being part of every match,” said Romero, who also does wedding videography.
When it comes to a favorite memory, Romero’s mind immediately went to the Leagues Cup quarterfinal at Shell Energy Stadium in 2019, as both of his favorite teams (Club América and the Dynamo) were playing against each other. Captain DaMarcus Beasley found the back of the net in the 85th minute, but the visiting Liga MX team found victory 5-6 on penalties.
Romero said he attends games with his family and friends, and everyone enjoys some cold beer and local food before the match.
“What I enjoy the most about Dynamo games in the unity of the multi-cultural crowd,” Romero said. “Of course, I always love going out and repping for Houston whether we win, lose or draw.”
