Houston Dynamo Academy midfielder Alex Borsos and defender Hans Leza were named to the United States Under-15 Boys’ National Team by head coach Clint Peay, U.S. Soccer announced earlier today. Borsos and Leza will join 26 other players from around the country for a nine-day training camp in Carson, Calif. beginning on Jan. 29.

In addition to Borsos and Leza, Houston Dynamo Dash Youth midfielder Cesar Cordova was named to the national team roster. Houston Dynamo Dash Youth is an affiliate club of the Dynamo organization that collaborates in youth development.

"We are very excited for both Alex Borsos and Hans Leza to be called into the U.S. U-15 National Team camp. Alex is a young versatile midfield player with strong technical and competitive qualities. Hans is a converted midfielder who is developing into a very poised central defender with excellent decision-making skills,” Dynamo Academy Director, Paul Holocher said. “We place our high-potential youth players above their appropriate age group as often as possible. These two have begun to train and play into our U-17 squad and we want to continue to be aggressive in the remainder of the Academy season to help them, and others along.

We would also like to congratulate Cesar Cordova from the Dynamo Dash Youth club who was called into camp again. He is an excellent young player. We are very proud of all three of these young men from Houston who have this amazing opportunity to continue developing and learning what is required to perform at the national team levels.”

Borsos has appeared in three games for the Dynamo U-17 team and started in six games for the U-15 squad this season.  The midfielder has appeared in 62 games for the Dynamo Academy in five different levels since joining the U-12 and U-13 team for the 2016-17 season.

Leza has started seven games for the Dynamo Academy U-15 squad, which has earned 16 points from eight games this season. The defender has appeared in 62 games for the Dynamo Academy since joining the U-12 team for the 2016-17 season. Leza and the U-15 team have won five of their eight games this season and return to action on Sunday, Feb. 3 against Texans SC in Tomball.

This is the fourth event of the 2018-19 cycle for the U-15s, who are preparing for this summer’s 2019 Concacaf U-15 Boys’ Championship.
