Brian Ching, Dwayne DeRosario and Brad Davis headline the Dynamo Legends roster for the BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup on October 5 at BBVA Compass Stadium, it was announced today.
The Dynamo Legends will face off against a Univision Deportes Legends squad in a seven-on-seven match prior to the BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup match between the Dynamo and Mexican club Cruz Azul. The Legends match will start at 7 p.m. CT, while the Dynamo and Cruz Azul kick off at 8 p.m. CT. Both matches will be broadcast nationally on the Univision Deportes Network.
The BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup is an annual exhibition match in which the Dynamo take on a team from outside of Major League Soccer, with proceeds benefitting a local nonprofit organization. This year's nonprofit beneficiary is the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund established by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Harris County Judge Ed Emmett. BBVA Compass and the Dynamo have set a goal of raising $100,000 from the event.
“I am really looking forward to getting back on the field with some of the Dynamo originals,” said former Dynamo forward Brian Ching. “It’s been a long time since seeing many of their faces in Houston and I can’t wait to see them get to play at BBVA Compass Stadium. This will be a great opportunity for our fans to reconnect with some of their former favorites while supporting such a great cause.”
