Kristie Mewis will miss the remainder of the 2018 NWSL season with a left knee sprain, the team announced today. The diagnosis was confirmed after further evaluation this morning at Houston Methodist Hospital.
The midfielder suffered the injury in the first half of Sunday's victory against the Washington Spirit in Houston. The midfielder scored two goals in the last three games after starting the season as a defender. Mewis started every game for Houston since being acquired last August in a trade with the Chicago Red Stars.
The midfielder will be placed on the disabled list following her evaluation earlier today.
