Houston Dash acquire defender Megan Crosson

The Houston Dash acquired defender MeganCrosson,the club announced today.


Crosson returns to Houston after joining the club for four appearances during the 2016 season. After her first NWSL season, Crosson continued her professional career overseas in Japan’s Speranza FC, Spain’s UDG Tenerife and Lithuania’s GintraUniversitetas from 2016 to 2018. 


The defender joined the Washington Spiritin August2018 when she signed as a national team replacement player, making an appearance in the last game of the season. Crosson scored her first professional goal when Washington faced Sky Blue FC on April 13, 2019. The California native made six appearances for the Spirit last season.


Crosson finished her four-year collegiate career at Santa Clara University with 60 appearancesfrom 2012 to 2015. As a senior, Crosson led the team in assists with seven and earned WCC All-Academic Honorable Mentions.


With this transaction, the Dash now have 24 players on their active roster ahead of the 2020 NWSL season.
