The Houston Dynamo return to BBVA Stadium on Saturday and welcome fans to the venue for the first time since Feb. 29. Saturday’s match will be open to 3,000 spectators after the venue received approval from local health and government officials.
Houston will look to recapture their form at home and enter Saturday’s game with a 2-0-1 record at BBVA Stadium since returning from the MLS is Back Tournament. The Dynamo have outscored opponents 5-1 in the last two games in EaDo. Three of those goals came in a 3-0 victory over Minnesota earlier this month in the first meeting between both clubs. The Dynamo enter Saturday’s game with a 4-2-2 record against Minnesota and a 4-0-1 record at BBVA Stadium.
The Loons won two consecutive games following their visit to BBVA Stadium. The unbeaten stretch came to an end on Sunday when they fell 1-0 to Sporting Kansas City. Minnesota currently sit in third place in the Western Conference and sit three points shy of Kansas City at the top of the table.
Houston will begin a two-game road trip on Wednesday when they travel to Soldier Field to face the Chicago Fire. The Dynamo return to national television next Saturday when the visit Nissan Stadium at 2:30 p.m. on Univision.

Here are three key points ahead of Saturday’s game:
- DYNAMO BEGIN FINAL PHASE OF REGULAR SEASON – The Dynamo finished Phase 1 of the MLS return to play schedule with a 3-1-2 record. The club will begin the final phase of the regular season on Saturday with the first of six matches at BBVA Stadium. Houston will travel to Chicago and Nashville next week as the league maintains a regional schedule to limit the time out of market for players and staff. The remaining nine game schedule will be announced in the near future and the Dynamo will look to capitalize on their form at BBVA Stadium with a 2-0-2 record this season.
- RODRIGUEZ KEY AFTER ROAD TRIP – The Dynamo look to bounce back after a challenging two-game stretch. Houston split a two-game road trip with a draw in Colorado on Sept. 9 and fell to their in-state rivals three days later in the Texas Derby. The Dynamo were held to a goal in each game and Academy product Memo Rodriguez had a hand in both goals. Rodriguez found Christian Ramirez seconds into the start of the second half to give the Dynamo a 1-0 lead in Colorado. Three days later the Academy product scored the equalizer off a set piece that scorched the inside of the far post in Frisco. The Academy product enters Saturday’s game with three goals and three assists. Rodriguez’s six combined goals and assists has the midfielder with the third highest mark on the team.
- REYNOSO ADJUSTS TO LIFE IN MLS – Emanuel Reynoso made his MLS debut at BBVA Stadium on Sept. 2 and has since earned two consecutive starts since signing with Minnesota from Boca Juniors in Argentina. The midfielder has two assists for the club and shares the midfield with Kevin Molina and Robin Lod. The trio have scored a combined eight goals and have six assists. The Loons will look to the midfield trio to break a four-game winless streak away from Allianz Field.
