HOUSTON (Oct. 26, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC goalkeeper Jonathan Bond was named to theMLSSoccer.com Team of the Matchday for Matchday 32, the league announced today. The honor marks the veteran shot stopper's first selection of the season.

The Dynamo are coming off a scoreless home draw versus Minnesota United FC on Saturday night at ShellEnergy Stadium, earning a crucial point that moved Houston even with the San Jose Earthquakes with 48 points, fourth-most in the Western Conference, and leaving the Dynamo in fifth on tiebreakers. The result marked Houston’s 12th clean sheet as a team this season and Bond’s 11th, while the team's 12 regular season shutouts are just one off the all-time Club record of 13 set in 2007 and 2023.

Bond put on a strong display between the sticks, finishing the evening with five saves and stopping every Minnesota shot on target. Some of his key stops included a crucial save in first half stoppage time when a header into the ground from Anthony Markanich was kept out by the swinging paw of the Englishman, followed immediately by another crucial block from forward Lyle Foster. Another one was early in the second half when Minnesota sprung a counterattack down the right side. A centering pass found the foot of Kelvin Yeboah, but Bond dove low to claim the attempt.

Notably, Bond currently ranks among the league's top five in clean sheets this season. He is just one shutout shy from tying former Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall's Club record of 12 clean sheets in a single season.

The Dynamo open a two-match road trip on Wednesday, Oct. 28, first visiting Seattle Sounders FC before facing off against the Timbers on Sunday, Nov. 1. Fans can follow both matches live via MLS on Apple TV.
