HOUSTON (Oct. 17, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC played FC Dallas to a 2-2 draw at Shell Energy Stadium tonight, coming back from a first half deficit. Houston have avoided defeat in 13 of 16 matches since returning from the World Cup break and moved their home record versus Dallas to 10-5-12 all-time (W-L-D).

Notably, forward Lawrence Ennali made his 50th MLS appearance on Saturday night.

FC Dallas opened the scoring in the 12th minute when defender Christian Cappis fired a left-footed shot from the left side of the box into the upper-right corner of the net.

Midfielder Héctor Herrera leveled proceedings on a set piece in the 49th minute. Attacker Guilherme spun in a right-footed in-swinging corner kick to a streaking Herrera, who headed home near the back post. The goal was Herrera's third of the season and Guilherme's 10th assist – making him just the second player in Dynamo history to record 10 goals and 10 assists in the same season (Alberth Elis, 11 goals + 10 assists – 2018).

The Dynamo took the lead in the dying moments of the match after attacker Mateusz Bogusz converted his eighth goal of the season from the penalty spot in the fourth minute of second half stoppage. The penalty kick was awarded after Dallas player Nolan Norris was deemed to handle the ball inside the box.

Dallas then scored in the equalizer minutes later with a penalty kick of their own with Petar Musa finding the back of the net. The penalty was given after striker Duncan McGuire was deemed to have fouled Ran Binyamin inside the box.

Houston threatened in the 23rd minute after a passing sequence saw forward Lyle Foster find Bogusz, who played a one-touch pass to Guilherme. However, the Brazilian international’s effort sailed just over the crossbar.

Goalkeeper Jonathan Bond was called into action in the 24th minute, making a save to deny Herman Johansson’s header and keep the Dynamo within one goal.

In the 27th minute, Agustin Resch was judged to have taken Daniel Job down in the box. Musa stepped up to take the penalty and delivered initially, but referee Victor Rivas called for a re-kick as the whistle to take the kick hadn't yet been blown. On the second attempt, Bond dove to the left to make a strong set-piece stop and keep the deficit at just one.

Ennali had a chance to level the match in the 43rd minute after receiving a pass from Bogusz, but goalkeeper Daniel was well-positioned to make the stop.

Houston nearly found an equalizer in first-half stoppage time when defender Franco Negri connected with a header from the center of the box in first half stoppage time, but FC Dallas defender Shaq Moore got in the way to block the attempt and preserve the visitors’ lead.

In the 67th minute, Dallas seemingly retook the lead. Bond made an initial terrific save on a low ball to his left, but Herman Johansson tucked home the rebound. Rivas went to the monitor and ruled that Johansson was offside and the goal was ruled out, leaving proceedings level.

Houston continues a two-match homestand on Saturday, Oct. 24, hosting Minnesota United FC on Space City Night, presented by DUDE Wipes. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, and fans can secure tickets to the match via Tixr HERE.
