SAN DIEGO (Oct. 14, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC played San Diego FC to a 3-3 road draw at Snapdragon Stadium tonight, avoiding defeat in 12 of 15 matches since returning from the World Cup break.

With five regular season matches remaining, Houston currently sits fifth in the Western Conference with a 13-9-7 (W-L-D) record on 46 points, the third-highest total through 29 matches in team history.

Attacker Guilherme is the first Dynamo player in team history to record three goal contributions in a half multiple times in a single season (at FC Dallas and vs. Austin FC), earning his second brace with the Dynamo and assisting on Mateusz Bogusz’s seventh goal of the season. The Brazilian and Polish Designated Players have scored in the same match five times this season.

Guillherme has now contributed to 25 of Houston’s 39 goals this season (64.1%) and became the second Brazilian player in MLS history to record at least 25 goal contributions in their debut season (Gabriel Pec, 2024).

San Diego took the lead in the 20th minute when Anders Dreyer converted from the penalty spot. The penalty kick was awarded following a VAR review, which determined that goalkeeper Jonathan Bond had fouled Cedric Bakambu inside the box.

San Diego doubled their lead in the 22nd minute after Onni Valakari found Cedric Bakambu at the top of the box, where he fired a a right-footed shot the struck the underside of the crossbar before going into the back of the net.

The Dynamo pulled one back two minutes later when forward Lawrence Ennali played a ball to Guilherme at the top of the box. The Brazilian took a touch into the box before firing a left-footed shot into the back of the net for his 15th goal of the season.

Houston leveled the match in the 33rd minute with an extraordinary finish inside the box, as Bogusz found the back of the net with a bicycle kick into the bottom left corner. The play began with Guilherme finding the Polish playmaker in the center of the box, where Bogusz controlled the ball with his chest before executing the acrobatic finish. The goal marked Bogusz's seventh goal of the season, while Guilherme recorded his ninth assist of the MLS campaign. Tonight marked the first time Houston has scored three goals in a half since July 25 when the Dynamo earned a 3-0 home victory over Austin FC.

Guilherme then gave the Dynamo the lead in the 37th minute after a clearance from San Diego's backline fell to him outside the box, where he fired a powerful strike for his second goal of the night, completing his second brace for the Dynamo.

San Diego leveled the match in the 86th minute when Manu Duah’s backheel attempt struck the post and fell to Gabriel Pirani, who guided the rebound into the net to make it 3-3.

Bond was called into action in the 10th minute after Bakambu tested the English shot stopper with a close-range strike, forcing him to dive to his left to deny the effort.

Bond came up big again in first half stoppage time, diving to his left to deny a long-range shot from Dreyer.

Bond came up with his third and final save late in second half stoppage time, getting low to corral a headed attempt from Duah into his chest to preserve the draw.
