The Houston Dynamo presented the first episode in a groundbreaking new video series on Friday afternoon. "Cannon Retrieval - Houston to Frisco" is a Slow TV feature depicting the trek from Houston to Frisco, Texas. It is surely the first ever Slow TV feature in North American sports, and probably the world.

The video, coming in at just under five hours and 10 minutes of footage, shows the full ride from BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston to Toyota Stadium in Frisco as the Dynamo and a member of Texian Army retrieve El Capitán from FC Dallas. The Dynamo won the Civil War-era mountain howitzer replica on a goal difference tiebreaker for the 2016 season.

Slow TV came to prominence in 2009 via the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation as they showed a 7 hour train ride from Bergen to Oslo in its entirety. The name of "Slow TV" refers to both the endurance of the broadcast as well as the methodical pace of the marathon coverage.

With El Capitán back in possession of the Dynamo, the team will fire it off before home games once again, beginning at Saturday's match against the Portland Timbers (7:45 p.m., TICKETS).

these claims are unverified, but take our word for it—they're probably true
