HOUSTON (April 3, 2026) – After last weekend’s international break, Houston Dynamo FC return to ShellEnergy Stadium to host Western Conference foe Seattle Sounders FC this Saturday, April 4, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.
Tickets for all home matches are available HERE, and fans can check out the Club’s Community First Ticket Offers and Value Menu for the 2026 season HERE.
Houston enters Saturday’s fixture sitting ninth in the Western Conference with six points and a 2-2-0 (WLD) record. They are coming off a 4-3 road loss to FC Dallas in what was a back-and-forth match that saw Houston score three goals in a five-minute span to retake the lead heading into halftime. The goals came from forward Guilherme (fourth of season), defender Erik Sviatchenko (first of season) and forward Lawrence Ennali(first of season), while Guilherme also recorded his second and third assists of the season. Notably, the three goals scored in a five-minute span (29th to 33rd minutes) is just the 10th time that has occurred in MLS history and second-fastest trio in Club history. Houston last completed the feat in August 2009 when Brad Davis (36th minute) and Brian Ching (38th and 39th minute) each found the back of the net versus D.C. United.
The Dynamo played the final 22 minutes of the road match with 10 men after Sviatchenko was shown a second yellow card in the 68th minute, meaning the defender will miss this weekend’s match with an ensuing suspension. An additional lineup note for this weekend is that forward Nick Markanich will serve the second game of his two-match suspension following a red card on March 14 versus the Portland Timbers.
Guilherme is tied for third in MLS with seven goal contributions (four goals and three assists) and is the first Dynamo player to record that many contributions through their first four matches with the Club. His performance in Frisco earned him MLSSoccer.com Team of the Matchday honors for Matchday 5, marking his third selection of the season (Matchday 1 and Matchday 4) and the third time in the last five matchdays a Dynamo player receives the honor. Midfielder Jack McGlynn is also tied for second in the league with three assists.
Ennali sits third in MLS in one-on-ones with six, winning five for an 83.3 percent success rate. He is also tied for first in the league with a top speed of 35.96 kilometers per hour.
The Sounders currently sit fifth in the Western Conference with 10 points through five matches and are coming off a scoreless draw at Minnesota United FC. That same week, Seattle advanced to the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals after defeating Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2-1 at home in the second leg of Round of 16.
Last week, the Dynamo announced the signings of rookie defender **Agustin** **Resch** and U.S. Men’s National Team defender **Sam** **Vines**. Resch originally joined the Club after being selected in the 2026 MLS SuperDraftout of Seton Hall University and signing with Houston Dynamo 2. However, Resch received short-term loans to the first team for the first three matches this season, earning minutes versus LAFC (Feb. 28) and the Timbers. Vines joins the Dynamo following two stints with the Colorado Rapids (2018-21 and 2024-26), where he totaled 116 appearances for the club, and a three-year tenure with Royal Antwerp FC in Belgium (2021-23), where he made 58 appearances in all competitions.
Homegrown midfielder Matthew Arana was called up to the Mexico U-16 National Team during the March FIFA Window for the 2026 Montaigu Tournament, where they competed in Group B versus Portugal, Peru and Japan.
Earlier this week, Houston’s opening match of the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup was confirmed, as the Dynamo will host USL Championship side El Paso Locomotive FC on Wednesday, April 15, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT at Shell Energy Stadium. Fans can secure their tickets for the match HERE or watch the match live via Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network. If Houston advances to the Round of 16, they will host the winner of Austin FC and Louisville City FC on either April 28 or 29.
The Dynamo have won two U.S Open Cup titles in Club history, with their most recent triumph coming in 2023, when they defeated Inter Miami CF 2-1. The victory secured Houston’s fourth domestic title in Club history after winning back-to-back MLS Cup titles in 2006 and 2007, as well as the 2018 U.S. Open Cup, which the Dynamo earned with a 3-0 victory over the Philadelphia Union in Houston.
Houston next travels to face the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, April 11, at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park, with kickoff schedule for 8:30 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the match live via Apple TV.
