McCue scores first professional goal, Palomino and Charlotte earn three points

Houston Dynamo FC defender Eric McCue scored his first professional goal in the 2-2 draw between Charleston Battery and New York Red Bulls II on Sunday. It came in McCue’s first start of the regular season after he came off the bench on May 14 against the Charlotte Independence. The Dynamo Academy alum and Charleston return to action on Friday, June. 4 against LA Galaxy II at home.  
The Independence and Dynamo midfielder Marcelo Palomino earned three points on the road last Saturday after a 1-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The midfielder logged 86 minutes in his third start of the season and completed more than 70 percent of his passes. The Independence travel to Florida this weekend to face Miami FC on Saturday, May 29 at FIU Soccer Stadium.  
Rio Grande Valley FC looks to rebound this week after they fell to El Paso Locomotive 1-0 over the weekend. This was the first loss for the Toros this season and RGV enter Saturday’s South Texas Derby with a 3-1-0 record. RGV will travel to the Alamo City to face San Antonio FC on Saturday, May 29 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
