Tough tests to start 


“We are excited to get started with a strong schedule, it will be important to be ready from day one” – Tab Ramos 


It will be vital Tab Ramos and his squad are ready from day one as the Dynamo open the 2020 season with three tough tests out of the gate. The LA Galaxy come to Houston on Opening Day presented by BBVA on February 29, the squad then faces an away match at an improved Sporting KC side a week late, before welcoming defending MLS Cup Champions Seattle Sounders FC to BBVA Stadium on March 14. 


The schedule doesn’t get any easier following the spring international break as the Dynamo immediately face a three-game homestand from April 4 – 15 facing Portland, new kids on the block Inter Miami CF, and Minnesota United in the first leg of the Dylan Wolpers Derby.  


Texas Derby Dates 


2020 marks the last year of the two-team Texas Derby as Austin FC enters the fold in 2021. The first leg of this year’s battle for El Capitan will be played Saturday, May 16 in Frisco and the two teams face off again on Thursday, Aug. 20 as part of Rivalry Week presented by Heineken at BBVA Stadium.  


Heating up in August 


August kicks off another tough stretch of games with three games in nine days from August 1 – 9 as the Dynamo host Real Salt Lake before traveling to Nashville and San Jose.  


Wrapping up 2020 


Houston closes the home slate on Sunday, Sept. 27 vs. Sporting KC. For the final game of the regular season, the Dynamo will travel to Minnesota United on Decision Day.
