The Houston Dynamo and Dash are returning to the digital airwaves in 2020 with a new, more comprehensive podcast titled City of Soccer. The new podcast, which will feature interviews with Dynamo and Dash coaches, players, members of the front office and media, replaces five separate podcasts from last season.

The new podcast aligns with the Club’s unified Hold It Down branding and marketing campaign launched earlier this season, which focuses on branding both teams equally and tying the club more closely to the city it calls home.

Garret Heinrich and Jen Cooper will host the City of Soccer, with each episode featuring multiple segments with interviews. Episodes are expected to last approximately 60 minutes – perfect for the average Houstonian’s commute – with the first episode dropping today.

Heinrich joined the Dynamo as the director of digital marketing in Nov. 2019 after nearly a decade with CBS Radio and Entercom. Cooper returns to the Dynamo and Dash Digital platform as the Houston Dash insider, and her encyclopedic knowledge of the game has taken her to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia with ESPN and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France with FOX.

The first episode of City of Soccer will feature Dynamo head coach Tab Ramos prior to his debut on the BBVA Stadium touchline against the LA Galaxy. Ramos will touch on the Dynamo preseason and what he expects on the field as Houston hosts Mexican international Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and the Galaxy.

Houston Dash head coach James Clarkson will join Cooper for an overview of the offseason as the Dash prepare for their seventh season in the National Women’s Soccer League. Clarkson will also touch on the recently announced 2020 schedule and the upcoming preseason.

Dynamo forward Christian Ramirez will also join City of Soccer for a look at his path to the Dynamo and reflects on his Southern California roots. The forward joined the Dynamo midway through the 2019 season and he reflects on his first full preseason with the team as he looks to build on his strong start with the club last season.

The City of Soccer podcast will be available weekly on HoustonDynamo.com/Podcasts.
