The Houston Dynamo Academy returned to action last weekend and opened the Spring season with a series victory over RISE SC at Houston Sports Park.

“It was good to get back playing again after the winter break. The teams performed well and looked fit for this time of year, pressing and recovering the ball well, and playing with strong attacking intent,” Dynamo Academy Paul Holocher said. “We had the opportunity to play three good local games and almost every player in the Pre-Professional phase was able to play significant minutes. We are looking forward to getting the Formation teams (U-13, U-14, and U-15) back in action as well next week in San Antonio.”

The U-19 squad opened the series with a solid defensive performance and earned a clean sheet against RISE. The match finished 0-0 as goalkeeper Logan Erb earned his first clean sheet of the season. Hanz Leza, Erick Monge and Jathan Juarez generated opportunities for the U-19 team who will return to action on Feb. 20.

A hat trick from Joseph Farouz led the U-17 squad to a 7-0 victory over RISE on Saturday. The Dynamo held firm and generated four of the seven goals after pressing RISE and capitalizing on their transition play.

The U-16 team earned the series victory for the Dynamo with a 3-1 victory on Saturday afternoon. A brace from Andre Gitau and a goal from Jhosua Jory gave Houston their first victory of the season.
The Dynamo return to action this Saturday in the Alamo City as the U-13-U-17 squads travel to central Texas for the first road trip of the year.
