Academy Roundup: U-15s - 19s travel to Colorado

This past weekend, the Houston Dynamo U-15, U-16/17, and U-18/19 Academy teams traveled to Colorado to take on their counterparts from the Colorado Rapids Academy on Saturday, as well as the Real Colorado Academy on Sunday.


On Saturday, the U-15 squad was defeated by the Rapids 4-2. After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, the Dynamo rallied to tie the match in the second half behind goals from Daniel Hernandez and Kieran Sargeant but a pair of goals in the 73rd and 79th minutes ultimately secured victory for the local side.


After falling behind in the first 10 minutes of the game, the U-16/17 Dynamo defeated the Rapids 4-2 behind an equalizer by Diego Gonzalez, a first-half brace from Daniel Rios and a late own goal by the Rapids to solidify the result.


The U-18/19 team earned a 1-1 draw against the U-18/19 Rapids behind a 67th-minute equalizer by Loannis Moros after a first-half goal from the Rapids opened the scoring.


On Sunday, the U-15 team fell 3-1 to Real Colorado. After a 28th-minute Dynamo goal from Bryce Barnum, Real Colorado struck for three goals in a 10-minute second half period to take the result. The U-16/17 team was defeated 4-0.


After a weekend of travel, the U-15, U-16/17, and U-18/19 Dynamo Academy teams will stay in the Houston area this Memorial Day weekend to take on Houston Dynamo Youth SC on Saturday and Texans SC Houston on Sunday.
