SEATTLE, Wash. (Oct. 28, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC recorded an important road victory on Wednesday night, earning a 1-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC. The Dynamo recorded their 13th clean sheet of the season, tying the Club’s single-season record (2007 & 2023), while the win moves Houston into the top four in the MLS Western Conference table, even with St. Louis in third and just three points out of second place.
With the result, goalkeeper Jonathan Bond also recorded his 12th clean sheet of the season, tying Tally Hall and Steve Clark’s single-season Club records.
Houston broke through first in the 26th minute, as defender Lucas Halter guided a crossed ball in the box into the back of the net following a corner kick delivery from forward Mateusz Bogusz. The Brazilian’s goal for the Dynamo marked the 1,552nd of this MLS season, tying the all-time single-season record, while Bogusz recorded his fifth assist of the season on the play.
Bond was first called into action in the 13th minute when Cristian Roldan took his chances from outside of the box, but the veteran goalkeeper dove down to his right to block the shot with an outstretched right hand. The play marked the first of six saves on the night.
Bond stepped up again in the 41st minute stopping another deep shot, this time from Jesus Ferreira, with his chest, before stopping another long range shot from Albert Rusnak with a diving save to his right to push the ball behind goal. Minutes later, the Englishman corralled another shot from Dejan Joveljic.
In the 65th minute, Halter nearly had the second goal of his MLS career, as a lovely dipping free kick from Mateusz Bogusz bounced just inside the Seattle penalty spot. Halter was first to attack, but the ball was cleared just a second before he could get the shot away.
In the second minute of second half stoppage time, it was Bond once again who came up big after a deflected spinning ball appeared to be headed for the corner of the Dynamo net, but the veteran shot stopper quickly made his way across goal to dive and parry the opportunity to preserve the clean sheet.
The Dynamo remain out west for a Sunday night matchup at the Portland Timbers on Nov. 1, with kickoff scheduled for 8:45 p.m. CT. Fans can follow both matches live via MLS on Apple TV.
