HDFC expands local offerings at Shell Energy Stadium with 10 new restaurant partners

Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) announced partnerships with 10 local restaurants today as part of the recently publicized collaboration with world-renowned chef Hugo Ortega.

Ortega, who leads the match day culinary program at Shell Energy Stadium in collaboration with Levy, aimed to create a dining experience at the stadium that captures the eclectic flavors from Houston’s culinary community.

"The Club is ecstatic to offer such a diverse array of flavors throughout the venue this year,” Club chief operating officer, Jessica O’Neill said. “We are counting down the days until we open the doors of Shell Energy Stadium and showcase a revamped food experience that will feel more authentic to Houston.”

The new dining offerings will be located in different sections throughout Shell Energy Stadium and a full list is available below. The stadium will open to the public for the first time to Dynamo fans on March 18 and for the first time to Dash fans on March 26 for each team’s respective home openers.

Chef Ortega and the H Town Restaurant Group will have two locations at Shell Energy Stadium this season. Fans can enjoy traditional Mexican street food from Urbe or the vibrant and earthy flavors of his native cuisine served at his namesake Hugo’s. The menus feature delicacies native to Mexico City, Oaxaca, Jalisco and Puebla curated by members of the H Town Restaurant team who are natives of the region.

“I am excited to be a part of the wonderful enhancements at Shell Energy Stadium that will bring these Houston-inspired flavors to the venue as we cheer on our hometown team,” says Ortega. “I have played soccer most of my life and I know the feeling of scoring a goal and putting a team together. We are so honored to be part of the Club and have the incredible opportunity to enhance the fan experience as a team for our guests.”

Owned by Houston rapper Bun B, Trill Burgers will bring its burger lineup to Shell Energy Stadium. The nationally recognized burger joint – which will open its first brick-and-mortar location soon in Montrose – will bring the mix and flavor of H-Town that has captivated the Bayou City.

Taquerias Arandas, a Houston staple since 1981, will also be featured at Shell Energy Stadium. With more than 25 locations in Houston the authentic Mexican food restaurant will serve some of their most popular tacos during Houston Dynamo and Dash matches.

Roegels Barbecue will bring its traditional Texas BBQ, smoked to perfection using post oak logs, on game days.  Prime grade brisket and in-house made jalapeño cheese sausage will be on their menu.  Owned and operated by Pitmaster Russell Roegels and his wife Misty, Roegels Barbecue is a homey venue for traditional Texas barbecue.

Owned and operated by University of Houston alum, Ronnie and Linda Nguyen, Roostar Vietnamese Grill is a visionary brand that serves custom banh mi sandwiches, alongside authentic noodle, and rice dishes in a festive environment reminiscent of the true Vietnamese street vendor scene.

Churrascos will bring the bold flavors of the Latin American parrilla along with all its fire and flair.. Fans will be able to savor Churrascos’ signature chimichurri marinated center-cut tenderloin and their famous tres leches cake at Shell Energy Stadium as they cheer on their hometown teams.

Williams Smokehouse BBQ and Blues is one of Houston’s most popular food trucks. Smoked with aged wood and a blend of seasonings, Smokehouse BBQ and Blues is sure to bring some of the best southern barbecue to each match day. Their full menu will be available between gamedays when the full-service restaurant opens in Sugarland in April.

Elotes Bravos will bring their savory menu to the home of the Dynamo and Dash later this month. The family-owned food truck offers roasted corn, both on the cob and in a cup, and other regional Mexican snacks.

Vinny’s Pizza, located in EaDo, will bring its signature take on pizza to Shell Energy Stadium. Fans attending Dynamo and Dash games will get to choose from a diverse menu of New York-style pizza.

Season ticket memberships, corporate hospitality packages, group experiences and single-match tickets for both teams are available now. More information is available at HoustonDynamoFC.com/Tickets.
