HOUSTON (Sept. 12, 2025) – Houston Dynamo FC travel to face the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, Sept. 13, at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park, as Houston looks to continue climbing the Western Conference standings. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT, and fans can stream the match live via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

The Dynamo have five regular season matches remaining in their push for the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs, including two home matches and three road matches. Houston currently sits just two points outside of the playoff line and only three points behind Colorado.

Houston and Colorado met earlier this season at Shell Energy Stadium, with the Dynamo earning a 2-2 draw behind goals from forward Amine Bassi and midfielder Ondřej Lingr. Bassi opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, while Lingr delivered the equalizer in the 96th minute on his Dynamo debut. Houston is unbeaten in their previous seven matches versus Colorado, outscoring the Rapids 13-6 over that stretch.

Forward Ezequiel Ponce leads the team’s attack with 11 goals across all competitions, including nine in regular season play, while midfielder Jack McGlynn sits second with six goals in all competitions. McGlynn also leads the team in distribution with seven assists, followed by defender Griffin Dorsey with six assists.

Saturday’s fixture could potentially mark midfielder Júnior Urso’s 100th MLS regular season start. The Brazilian joined the Dynamo ahead of the 2025 season after stints with Orlando City SC (2020-22 and the end of 2023) and Charlotte FC (2024).

The Dynamo are coming off a 1-1 home draw to earn an important point versus the LA Galaxy, where Ponce scored his ninth goal of the season and his second in as many matches. Lingr also recorded his fourth assist on the play, playing a ball over the top for Ponce, who headed it down to create space before slotting a shot into the bottom left corner. The result moved Houston within two points of the Western Conference playoff line.

Last week, the Dynamo acquired MLS veteran **Sergio** **Santos** and signed Jamaican defender **Damion** **Lowe**. Santos brings extensive MLS experience to Houston, totaling 167 regular season and postseason appearances over eight years in the league with FC Cincinnati and the Philadelphia Union. The 30-year-old has netted 27 goals and 14 assists in MLS play, while helping lead both Philadelphia (2020) and Cincinnati (2023) to Supporters’ Shields. Lowe is a regular for the Jamaican national team, recording 76 caps, four goals and two assists across various tournaments. The 32-year-old has totaled 59 MLS regular season and postseason appearances over three seasons in the league with the Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami CF, recording three goals and one assist.

Three players from Houston’s first team roster return from international duty in Lowe (Jamaica), McGlynn (United States) and midfielder Brooklyn Raines (U-20 United States). Lowe started in both of Jamaica’s World Cup Qualifying clean sheet victories (4-0 over Bermuda and 2-0 over Trinidad and Tobago), while finding the back of the net versus Bermuda. McGlynn again joined the USMNT as the team continues its World Cup preparations, earning minutes in both matches versus World Cup-bound South Korea (2-0 loss) and Japan (2-0 win). Raines joined the U-20 USMNT for September’s camp in Spain, and he is set to represent the United States at the 2025 U-20 FIFA World Cup in Chile from Sept. 27-Oct. 19 in Chile.

The Rapids currently sit eighth in the Western Conference with 36 points and a 10-13-6 (WLD) record. Colorado enters this weekend’s match following a 4-2 road loss to Sporting Kansas City on Aug. 30. Dejan Joveljić opened the scoring in the fourth minute for the hosts before Rafael Navarro equalized in the 22nd minute. Keegan Rosenberry then gave Colorado a 2-1 lead, but Dániel Sallói pulled Kansas City even in the 73rd minute with a close-range strike. Two minutes later, Mason Toye netted the winning goal for Kansas City. Navarro leads the team’s attack with 12 goals, followed by Djordje Mihailovic with nine. Mihailovic also leads the team with seven assists.

Colorado recently signed USMNT midfielder Paxten Aaronson from Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt. Aaronson, former teammate of McGlynn with the Philadelphia Union, joined Colorado on a club-record transfer and will occupy a Designated Player slot on the Rapids’ roster.

Houston returns to Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 20, to host the Portland Timbers on Noche Latina. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT, and Dynamo fans can secure their tickets HERE.
