Houston Sports will showcase the best youth talent in Major League Soccer at the U-15 and U-17 levels as it hosts 2017-18 Generation adidas Cup Central Region qualifying matches this weekend.

The Generation adidas Cup, founded in 2007, is one of the premier competitive soccer tournaments in North America. Comprised of U-17 MLS academy teams across three regions (East, Central, West), the Generation adidas Cup emphasizes player development while providing elite competition for MLS academies.

U-17 teams square off in a round-robin tournament over the Columbus Day and Presidents Day weekends for a total of six matches during regional qualifying. The top two finishers in the group advance to the Champions Division along with top international talent in Frisco, with remaining teams competing in the Premier Division.

The U-15 age group will take part in a round of friendlies against fellow MLS academies.
