The 2027 MLS Sprint Season is fast approaching and it’s going to be more exciting than ever as the league builds up to the new summer-to-spring calendar. Aligning with the world’s top soccer leagues, the new calendar format marks one of the most significant developments in MLS history and we are excited to share that with our fans.
Here is what to expect over the next few seasons:
Kicking off in February 2027, the fast-paced, high-stakes Sprint Season will include 14 regular season matches. The Dynamo will play each of our 14 Western Conference opponents once. Seven matches will be at home with the other seven on the road.
The top eight teams in each of the two conferences will qualify for the Audi 2027 MLS Cup Playoffs, a single-elimination tournament within each conference with the conference champions meeting in the 2027 MLS Cup presented by Audi.
The season standings will not only determine who advances to the playoffs, but also who will qualify for the 2028 Concacaf Champions Cup and 2028 Leagues Cup.
