Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly was named to the NWSL Best XI Second Team, presented by Mastercard, the league announced today. Â
Daly scored nine goals in 15 games during the 2021 NWSL regular season on her way to becoming Houston’s all-time leading scorer across all competitions and in league play. Daly finished the year with four career goals in all competitions and 33 in regular-season play. Â
In addition to her club duties, Daly also represented England in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics earlier this summer. Daly also scored a goal during the 2021 Challenge Cup earlier this year. Â
This is Daly’s second Best XI second team recognition of her six-year career and the first since 2018. Daly was also named to the Best XI team of the Women’s International Champion’s Cup. In 2020, Daly was named the MVP of the 2020 Challenge Cup.
