HOUSTON (Oct. 15, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC attacker Guilherme was named to the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Matchday for Matchday 30, the league announced today. The selection marks the Brazilian's ninth of the year (Matchday 1, 4, 5, 14, 18, 19, 20 and 25).
The Dynamo played San Diego FC to a 3-3 road draw at Snapdragon Stadium on Wednesday night, avoiding defeat in 12 of 15 matches since returning from the World Cup break. The high-scoring match featured Guilherme's second brace with the Dynamo and attacker Mateusz Bogusz's seventh goal of the season. All three of Houston's goals came in the first half, marking the first time the team has scored three goals in a half since July 25, when they earned a 3-0 home victory over Austin FC.
Houston recorded their first goal of the night in the 24th minute when forward Lawrence Ennali played a ball to Guilherme at the top of the box. The Brazilian attacker took a touch into the box before firing a left-footed shot into the back of the net for his 15th goal of the season.
The Dynamo leveled the match in the 33rd minute with an extraordinary finish inside the box, as Bogusz found the back of the net with a bicycle kick into the bottom left corner. The play began with Guilherme finding the Polish playmaker in the center of the box, where Bogusz controlled the ball with his chest before executing the acrobatic finish. The goal marked Guilherme's ninth assist of the season.
Guilherme then gave the Dynamo the lead in the 37th minute after a clearance from San Diego's backline fell to him outside the box, where he fired a powerful strike for his second goal of the night.
Notably, Guilherme is the first Dynamo player in team history to record three goal contributions in a half multiple times in a single season (at FC Dallas and versus Austin FC). He has also now contributed to 25 of Houston’s 39 goals this season (64.1%) and became the second Brazilian player in MLS history to record at least 25 goal contributions in their debut season (Gabriel Pec, 2024).
With five regular season matches remaining, Houston currently sits fifth in the Western Conference with a 13-9-7 (W-L-D) record on 46 points, the third-highest total through 29 matches in team history.
The Dynamo return to Shell Energy Stadium to host the in-state rivals FC Dallas for Ring of Honor Night, presented by Heriberto Ramos & Associates, on Saturday, Oct. 17, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. CT. At halftime of Saturday’s Texas Derby match, the Club will host a special ceremony to induct Club legend **Brian Ching** into the **Houston Dynamo Ring of Honor**.
