HOUSTON (Sept. 10, 2026) – Houston Dynamo FC attackers Mateusz Bogusz and Guilherme were named to the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Matchday for Matchday 25, the league announced today.
The honor marks Bogusz’s third of the season (Matchday 4 and 18) and Guilherme’s eighth of the year (Matchday 1, 4, 5, 14, 18, 19 and 20). The recognition also marks the third time this season that both players have earned Team of the Matchday honors together (Matchday 4 and 18).
The Dynamo defeated Real Salt Lake 2-1 at Shell Energy Stadium on Wednesday behind Guilherme’s 13thgoal of the season and Bogusz’s match winner in the 87th minute. Notably, the Brazilian attacker has now contributed to 21 of Houston’s 32 league goals this season, meaning that he has been directly involved in 65.6% of the team’s goals, one of the highest rates in MLS so far.
Houston opened scoring in the 57th minute thanks to the left foot of Guilherme. Forward Lawrence Ennali dribbled to the endline and cut back, finding the Brazilian near the top of the box, where he took two touches toward the center of the box before firing on the left for a 1-0 lead.
Bogusz then scored the match winner in the 87th minute with yet another strike from distance. A great diagonal ball from Guilherme found the Polish international just inside the right side of the box. Bogusz struck with force past goalkeeper Rafael Cabral for the 2-1 advantage.
Houston next travels to face the San Jose Earthquakes in another Western Conference clash on Saturday, Sept. 12, at PayPal Park, with kickoff set for 9:30 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the match live via Apple TV.
