HOUSTON (Sept. 26, 2025) – Houston Dynamo FC continue their push for the playoffs with a trip to face Nashville SC on Saturday, Sept. 27, in a cross-conference matchup at GEODIS Park. Kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT, and fans can follow the action live via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
The Dynamo sit just one place and one point outside of the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs line with three regular season matches remaining this season, including one home match and two road matches.
The Dynamo hold a 2-1-1 (WLD) record in their last four regular season matches versus Nashville, includingvictories in their last two meetings in 2022. Their most recent result at GEODIS Park came in October 2022, when Houston earned a 2-1 victory behind a brace from former Dynamo forward Sebastian Ferreira.
One lineup note for this weekend is that defender Pablo Ortiz is suspended for yellow card accumulation.
Houston is coming off a massive 1-0 home victory over the Portland Timbers last weekend to earn three crucial points. The victory saw forward Ezequiel Ponce score his 10th goal of the season, while midfielder Jack McGlynn recorded his eighth MLS assist. McGlynn’s performance earned him MLSSoccer.com Team of the Matchday honors, while Ponce continues to lead the team in goals across all competitions with 12. The match also marked midfielder Júnior Urso’s 100th MLS regular season start and saw midfielder Diadié Samassékou make his MLS debut late in the match.
In addition to Ponce leading the team with his 10 goals, McGlynn leads the team in distribution with his eight assists, followed by defender Griffin Dorsey with six. McGlynn also ranks third in the league in key passes with 89.
Nashville enters Saturday’s match with two wins and three losses in their last five matches across all competitions. This stretch includes their most recent result, a 3-2 loss at Orlando City SC on Sept. 20, where Hany Mukhtar and Jacob Shaffelburg each scored. Nashville currently sits seventh in the Eastern Conference with 50 points and a 15-11-5 (WLD) record. Sam Surridge leads the team’s attack with 21 goals, while Mukhtar leads the team with 11 assists. Notably, Nashville recently reached the U.S. Open Cup Final after defeating the Philadelphia Union 3-1 at home in the Semifinal on Sept. 16. They will face Austin FC in the Final on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Q2 Stadium.
Last week, the Dynamo exercised the purchase option for defender Felipe Andrade, who is now under contract through 2027 with Club options through 2029. Houston initially signed Andrade to a one-year loanwith Houston Dynamo 2 from Brazilian side Fluminense FC in February before extending him a first team loanin May, making him the seventh player to graduate from Houston’s second team to the first team. The Brazilian has recorded four goals and one assist in 26 appearances for the Dynamo across all competitions since joining the first team on loan in May.
Homegrown midfielder Brooklyn Raines will represent the United States at the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, after being named to the roster by head coach Marko Mitrović last week. The 24th edition of the tournament will be hosted in Chile from Sept. 27 through Oct. 19, and the U.S. will compete in Group E versus France, New Caledonia and South Africa. With the Dynamo, Raines has established himself as a key contributor in the midfield, making his MLS debut at just 17 years, five months and 24 days (Sept. 4, 2022, at SEA), before totaling 46 combined appearances in MLS regular season and postseason play.
