HOUSTON (Sept. 19, 2025) – Houston Dynamo FC host the Portland Timbers on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Shell Energy Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. Fans can secure their tickets for the match and to all Dynamo home matches HERE.

The Dynamo still remain within two points of the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs line with four regular season matches remaining this season, including two home matches and two road matches.

The Dynamo hold a 4-1-0 (WLD) record in their last five regular season matches versus the Timbers, outscoring Portland 12-6 during that stretch. The most recent result at Shell Energy Stadium came in March last season, when the Dynamo earned a 1-0 home victory behind a goal from former Dynamo forward Aliyu Ibrahim.

Saturday’s match will also feature **Noche Latina**, presented by Verizon. Fans can look forward to a gate giveaway Dynamo-Dash co-branded limited-edition rally towel, specialty food items, the Shell Energy Moment of the match spotlighting rapper Baby Bash, a live halftime performance by Rice University’s Mariachi Luna Llena and much more.

Two lineup notes for this weekend are that head coach Ben Olsen (yellow card accumulation) and Artur (red card) will be suspended for Saturday’s match.

Saturday’s fixture could potentially mark midfielder JĆŗnior Urso’s 100th MLS regular season start. The Brazilian joined the Dynamo ahead of the 2025 season after stints with Orlando City SC (2020-22 and the end of 2023) and Charlotte FC (2024).

Forward Ezequiel Ponce leads the team’s attack with 11 goals across all competitions, including nine in regular season play, while midfielder Jack McGlynn sits second with seven goals in all competitions. McGlynn also leads the team in distribution with seven assists, followed by defender Griffin Dorsey with six assists.

Houston is coming off a 2-1 road loss to the Colorado Rapids. However, the match saw McGlynn score his sixth goal of the season and forward Lawrence Ennali record his second assist of the year when the German beat a defender along the left side, making his way to the endline, and chipping the ball toward the back post for a streaking McGlynn, who had a simple first-time tap into the back of the net from close range.

Earlier this week, the Dynamo exercised the purchase option for defender Felipe Andrade, who is now under contract through 2027 with Club options through 2029. Houston initially signed Andrade to a one-year loan with Houston Dynamo 2 from Brazilian side Fluminense FC in February before extending him a first team loan in May, making him the seventh player to graduate from Houston’s second team to the first team. The Brazilian has recorded four goals and one assist in 25 appearances for the Dynamo across all competitions since joining the first team on loan in May.

Homegrown midfielder Brooklyn Raines will represent the United States at the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, after being named to the roster by head coach Marko Mitrović earlier today. The 24th edition of the tournament will be hosted in Chile from Sept. 27 through Oct. 19, and the U.S. will compete in Group E versus France, New Caledonia and South Africa. With the Dynamo, Raines has established himself as a key contributor in the midfield, making his MLS debut at just 17 years, five months and 24 days (Sept. 4, 2022, at SEA), before totaling 45 combined appearances in MLS regular season and postseason play.

Portland enters Saturday’s match following a 2-1 home victory over the New York Red Bulls last weekend at Providence Park. Matias Rojas opened the scoring in the 28th minute for the Timbers, and Antony netted the game winning goal in the 73rd minute after the Red Bulls equalized just three minutes earlier. Antony leads the team’s attack with seven goals and seven assists. The Timbers currently sit sixth in the Western Conference with 42 points and a 11-9-9 (WLD) record.

Houston next travels to face Nashville SC on Saturday, Sept. 27, in a cross-conference match at GEODIS Park, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. Fans can follow the action live via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
